Hello
Just curious to know if anyone has any information on the desirability or otherwise of a Paul Gonsalves, Tubby Hayes LP "Just Friends" that I have in my collection. It's a 1965 mono recording on Columbia SX 6003 and it's in pretty good nick.
A lot of my stuff is fairly run of the mill but this and an electronically remastered Miles Davis Volume 1 album seemed to stand out. It's on Blue Note BST 81501, released in 1984 & features Jay Jay Johnson, Jackie McLean, Art Blakey & Kenny Clarke.
I'm going digital with my music so albums that I've had for years are only just beginning to see the light of day again.
By the way, I'm a complete novice at this.
Cheers
Chris

Chris, Popsike lists several top condition copies of Just Friends as having sold for between £300 and £500 on eBay with the mean average selling price across all copies sold via eBay at £170. Caveat emptor though because some sold for considerably less. As ever, condition is the overriding factor.
I'm sure others will wade in re the Miles Davis record but I don't think that will be anywhere near the league of the Tubby Hayes one.

1980s Blue Note reissues - of which there were many - are generally regarded as being pretty indifferent and in my experience rarely sell for more than GBP10.00-12.00 per LP. Some don't mind them; others seem to hate them. There's a piece on the LJC blog about reissue quality here.

Chris,
I'd stick both LPs on Ebay. You might get a nice price for the Tubby if it is in top condition, and someone will probably throw a few dollar your way for the remastered Miles, as well.
