More gold from YouTube. This was posted 5 months ago: Description: “Rare footage of Hank Mobley in 1968 at the Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen. It is from a Danish TV show called JazzBeat. Kenny Drew is on piano, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen on bass, and Albert 'Tootie' Heath on drums. This footage was found by one jazz researcher sterh86@gmail.com and he is willing to search for many other artists' footage on a commercial basis.” Bit of info here: jazz.fm/hank-mobley-video-rare-footage-youtube/

briliant interpretation of an abused theme, Hank and Kenny really cook on. as a 1968 recording, you can hear echoes of Coltrane, not the last one but from 1963-1964. Hank never followed the new path from mid 60's on, but in an older way he was quite satisfying. dug this tune. as a Trane addict, I'll add that Trane's interpretation of this tune was quite unsatisfactory.

Man, Coltrane’s version of Summertime on his My Favorite Things album is killer!!!
