Hi mike,
I'm definitely very very interested, but alas I am located in the USA. You might have good luck shopping the collection around locally on Craigslist, etc.

You can sell it whole to a collector or shop, but you will get a lot more if you sell it as separate items on something like eBay or Discogs. Selling the collection whole leaves someone else with the problem of sorting through it etc. Alternatively you could pull out the items that are worth a fair amount (50s/60s Blue notes, Mosaic/Miles box sets), sell them separately and then put the rest on eBay as a job lot, with a bunch of good pictures and some good reissues left in it could still raise a bit of cash.
I'd be interested but it's difficult to put a value on the collection at a distance.

Hi Mike, I am sorry to hear about your father passing away. I am based in London and I would be very very interested. I am have been lurking on on this forum for years - reading and learning so much from all the wonderful Jazz collectors and aficionados. Your post; as well as a horrible day shift at the hospital has prompted me to officially join. Not sure why I did not do so before. Anyway, I am merely a jazz fan; and therefore not an expert on how to value the collection. I am sure others could advice better if you prefer to sell to a record shop/dealer. Let me (us) know what your thoughts are and what you decide. I hope you are keeping well and safe

Hello Mike I’m also sorry to hear about your father. You could offer the entire collection to Alan Ross at Jazz House Records, he’s just about the only UK based dealer that I know of who would be able to offer a fair price. www.jazzhouserecords.co.uk/Best wishes Steve

Mike, My condolences. You have probably settled all this long ago, but if not I second what Sztiv says above. The other thing it would be helpful to look at is condition. Judging from the exterior sleeves which all look impeccably well looked after, I imagine that the records themselves will be in excellent condition too but it would be wise to check a sample if you can. Ideally there should be no visible scratches, scuffs, fingerprints or other blemishes/damage.
