I just picked up a original mono pressing of Joe Henderson Mode for Joe. It's in NM condition with the original shrink wrap with what looks like a local store pricing sticker. It's all in incredible shape, but the shrink is starting to warp/bend the upper corner of the sleeve. I'm not a huge collector, but my understanding is that keeping the shrink wrap on will generally improve the value, but I'm concerned about it doing some damage. Would pulling shrink wrap have any negative effect on the value/re-sellability?

In general, it is a nice selling point, but if the shrink harms the cover, that is far worse than removing the shrink. I personally always remove shrink anyway. Not everyone does, but I do.
If the record and cover are in excellent shape, the lack of shrink will not deter anyone.

I keep it on unless it's harming the cover. That said, I recently tried to de-shrink an 80s experimental music LP where it was warping the cover and the shrink took some of the lamination with it, dulling the shiny black jacket. Kind of a catch-22 situation, unfortunately.

Yep. Should've left it alone but YOU DON'T LISTEN TO THE COVER

I remove it if it's dirty and distracting to the cover graphics.

I always remove it, unless I am considering reselling the record. Coincidentally, I recently upgraded to a sealed original mono pressing of "Mode for Joe." Opening the shrink, taking it off and playing this record for the first time, knowing I was the first person in 54 years to do so, was a highly gratifying experience.

If I had any (original Blue Notes in shrink-wrap) I would almost certainly leave it on, but my tendency generally is to remove shrink-wrap. I always *think* I am going to keep it on but in the event I never do -- oh, unless there is an interesting sticker or whatever on it. Then I *might* leave it on.

I cut the interesting stickers out of the shrink wrap and keep them with everything else.
