I've been considering buying an Okki Nokki brand cleaner. They come in just under the $500 mark and are said to be quiet. Anyone have/used one before?

Never used or seen an Ultrasonic clearer, but I'm interested now I've also never had that "wow" moment when you take a record from VG to NM, even after multiple cleanings. Improvements yes, but I've never "saved" a record. Perhaps I need to buy dirtier records....

I bought recently the Pro-Ject cleaning machine after trying it at a local dealer. It is fantastic good value for money at £299. I went along with an old copy of a Bill Evans LP full of dust and grime to see whether it could be rescued. I placed the vinyl on the platter, applied the cleaning liquid and brushed it evenly across. The machine allows you to spin the vinyl clockwise and anti clockwise. The vacuming too can be done in both directions. I was extremely impressed with the end result since I can now play the LP againg without a hiss or a crackle to be heard. Needless to say, I bought this lovely cleaner on the spot and, at that price, you can't go wrong.

I use a VPI 16.5, must be 10 years old and still like new. I use L'Art du Son cleaning fluid, which brings them up gleaming – I avoid alcoholic fluids, apparently there's some bonding issue at a molecular level.
I also use Lyra SPT stylus cleaner.

I run the ultrasonic record cleaning service Record Genie. I've been cleaning for customers since 2013 and have 2 Audio Desk machines, and 2 Klaudio machines, plus a VPI 16.5 conventional cleaner. I charge $2.90 per record for cleaning on either the Audio Desk or Klaudio, and $5.00 per record for "double-cleaning" on both machines, which gives even better results. Sorry for the plug, but there are many music lovers that can't afford $3,600 for an Audio Desk, or $4,800 for a Klaudio machine, but would like the great results, so I'm here to help!

I'm glad to see some positive feedback above (avantijazz) on the new Pro-Ject cleaner. I mentioned it here a little while back but had no information regarding its effectiveness. I think Pro-Ject do a great job of making stuff that is good value for money and of decent quality.
