I wonder what the thought process was when pressing these? I'm assuming cost was the number one factor and they simply used what was cheapest during a new pressing run...future collectors be damned!

i highly doubt anyone realized the value these would have in the future, and even if they did, they needed to make money and run a business, not cater to us! ha.

Brought up the question about booklets possibly coming with ESP's release "The Giuseppi Logan Quartet" on Instagram and Clifford was nice enough to respond with "Never seen a booklet; the jackets were meant to look like Folkways/Asch LPs (Stollman worked for Moe Asch) and probably supplied by the same manufacturer" which makes a lot of sense to me. The jackets are essentially identical. So what ESP releases (other than Ayler's "Spiritual Unity") did come with booklets?

i'm not an expert the way dott is, but for what it's worth i have never seen any evidence of any other ESP releases coming with booklets either.

No DG on either side here. Both sides have Bell Sound and plastylite "ear" stamp in run out.

Ran Blake Plays Solo Piano has a small insert with liners by Gunther Schuller and a short poem. Took me a few copies to find one with the actual paper enclosed.

Dottore, in the third picture I see "by Paul Haines". Is it a poetry or an essay by him there?
